AAF NYC appeals to both established collectors and first time buyers by presenting contemporary art priced from $100 - $10,000, with three-quarters of the work under $5,000. At the Spring 2011 edition, over 75 international and national galleries will exhibit original paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper.
The Affordable Art Fair NYC will host Art x Women consisting of nine galleries offering only work by women artists. The fair is also presenting special installations, programming, and a Recent Graduate section in conjunction with Art x Women.
Additional programs and events at AAF NYC Spring 2011 include a Private Preview Party on Wednesday, May 4, a Recent Graduates Exhibition curated by Sam Vernon, collecting discussions with Artstar.com, children activities hosted by LittleCollector.com, and photography-focused talks with world-renowned Aperture.
For the second season, AAF NYC also will offer Free Admission for all visitors on Thursday, May 5 from 6:00-8:00PM, making art accessible for all. In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday, May 8, Moms accompanied by a child will be welcomed to AAF with free admission and a special Mother's Day gift bag. As always, all children under 12 can attend the fair no admission charge during all public hours.
